Past simple tense : example

- She saw you yesterday.(หล่อนเห็นคุณเมื่อวานนี้)
- I went to Berline last year. (ผมไปเบอร์ลินเมื่อปีที่แล้ว)
- When he was young, he was very clever. (เมื่อตอนเขายังเด็ก เขาเป็นคนที่ฉลาดมาก)
- I used to get up early in the morning. (ฉันเคยตื่นนอนตอนเช้าตรู่ ( ปัจจุบันไม่ได้ตื่นเช้าแล้ว )
- I heard the blacksmith working all day long.(ฉันได้ยินช่างตีเหล็กทำงานตลอดทั้งวัน)
- If I were you I would love her. (ถ้าผมเป็นคุณ ผมจะรักเธอ)

Past continuous tenes : example

- They were learning English at eleven o'clock yesterday.
- At nine o'clock last night we were watching television.
- The students were thinking about their lunch while the teacher was explaining new words.
- When I came home , my mother was talking on the telephone.
- Last year he was taking paino lessons every day.
- We were visiting my parents every evening while we were in Bangkok.

หมายถึงกำลังเกิดเหตุการณ์อะไรอยู่แล้วมีเหตุการณ์อื่นเข้ามาแทรกโดยที่
Past Continuous เป็นเหตุการณ์ที่กำลังเกิด และ
Past Simple เป็นเหตุการณ์ที่เข้ามาแทรก

I was eating my cake then I saw Phan.
ฉันกำลังกินเค้กของฉันอยู่ แล้วฉันก็เห็นแป้น
(I was eating my cake เป็น past continuous และ I saw Phan เป็นpast simple)
I was taking a shower then Malee came in.
ฉันกำลังอาบน้ำอยู่ แล้วมาลีก็โผล่มา
(I was taking a shower เป็น past continuous และ Malee came in เป็นpast simple)
While I was mopping the floor, I found the ring.
ในขณะที่ฉันถูพื้นอยู่ ฉันก็เจอแหวน
